Diego Loyzaga reconciles, reunites with father Cesar Montano after 7 years
Diego Loyzaga has finally reconciled with his father, fellow actor Cesar Montano, after being distant from each other for seven years.
Loyzaga gave a glimpse of his reunion with Montano by showing themselves together at a basketball court, on his Instagram page yesterday, March 3. He also showed throwback moments with his father.
“[Seven] years is a long time for a son not to see his father. After seven years, after mistakes, God made a way to bring us together again,” he said. “I [apologize] for the impulsiveness of my youth. If we could take back the words and the distance and the time wasted, I would.”
Loyzaga admitted he was happy to spend time with Montano again and hopes to make up for the time they spent apart. He also reminded fans not to take their loved ones for granted.
“Value your family and loved ones today for tomorrow is not promised. As I mature, the more I wish saying sorry was enough to fix all of the world’s problems. Just peace and love and nothing else matters,” he added.

Among the celebrities who expressed happiness for the father and son was Diego’s mother, actress Teresa Loyzaga.
“You make me proud, son. I love you,” she told Diego.
Loyzaga did not elaborate on the cause of the rift between him and his father, though back in 2017 he lashed out at Montano for threatening to put him under police custody because of supposed “drug use.”
At the time, Loyzaga submitted himself to a series of drug tests, which all had negative results, but he said Montano still accused him of using drugs.
Aside from Diego, Montano also has children with his ex-wife, actress Sunshine Cruz: Angelina, Sam and Chesca. /ra
