Iza Calzado recalls messing up a scene with Cherry Pie Picache: ‘I was very intimidated’
Iza Calzado looked back on the celebrities she had worked with throughout her acting career, revealing how she was once “intimidated” by actress Cherry Pie Picache.
Calzado recounted doing a scene with Picache and messing it up, in an exclusive interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda on his YouTube channel yesterday, Feb. 23.
“I was just four years into this (showbiz) so I was very intimidated,” she recalled. “Take one binigay na nung Cherry Pie yung lahat tapos ako ‘yung hindi nakadeliver kasi midway nakaganon lang ako, ‘Oh my God, paano niya ginagawa ‘to. Ang galing, ang husay.’ And it happened to me so many times na I just become so floored like, ‘How is this person doing that?'”
(It was just the first take but Cherry Pie already gave her all, then I was the one who wasn’t able to deliver. I was just in awe and I thought, “Oh my God, how does she do this? She’s great. Excellent.” And it happened to me so many times when I just become so floored like, “How is this person doing that?”)
Calzado also regarded veteran actors Jaclyn Jose and Tirso Cruz III as those that she look up to, adding how working with them inspired her to “flow” with and embrace her acting skills. She then talked about the projects that she did in the past, specifically “Encantadia,” “A Love to Last” and “Ang Sa ‘Yo Ay Akin” as those that she considers to be her top three best performances.
