Jennifer Lopez ‘protective’ of rekindled romance with Ben Affleck: ‘We hold it sacred’

Jennifer Lopez has opened up about her renewed romance with actor Ben Affleck, noting how the two of them are “protective” of their second chance at love.
Lopez looked back on her past with Affleck and admitted that they were both “naive” in their relationship before. This she shared in an exclusive interview with People yesterday, Feb. 1.
“Before, we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naive and it got a little trampled,” she said. “We both were like, ‘Wow, we’re so happy and we don’t want any of that to come into play again.'”
Now, the pop superstar is just feeling “lucky and proud” to be with Affleck again.
“We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things,” Lopez told the publication. “We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”
“I just feel very happy and lucky to be in a relationship that’s happy and loving, and I want to do everything I can to protect that and keep it safe,” she added. “It deserves that, it really does. We hold it sacred.”
Lopez then expressed her admiration of Affleck and the man that he has become, someone who is everything she “always knew he was and wanted to be.”
The couple, referred to as “Bennifer,” made headlines anew for getting back together, two decades after they called off their previous engagement.
