Sharon Cuneta has delivered help to victims of super typhoon Odette in Cebu, as she was seen assisting in the distribution of relief packs alongside her husband, Vice Presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan.
The Megastar received cheers from the residents as they lined up to get food supplies, as seen in a video posted on MJ Felipe’s Twitter page yesterday, Dec. 23. Some even expressed their excitement after taking photos with Cuneta.
In a separate post, also on Felipe’s page, Cuneta shared her words of encouragement to the survivors of the typhoon.
“Huwag niyo pong kakalimutan, maraming pagsubok pero mahal tayong lahat ng Panginoon. Hindi njya tayo pababayaan. Manalig tayo!” the actress said.
(Don’t forget, there are a lot of trials, but we are all loved by the Lord. He will not neglect us. Let us have faith!)
Meanwhile, Cuneta shared a series of posts from fans admiring the actress for her kind deed, as seen on her Instagram page also yesterday.
“When at Cebu, may relief goods na [may Mega] pa,” one @gens_maileen said. (When at Cebu, there are relief goods plus there’s Mega.)
Another user wrote, “The best photo of the day is a photo of a kind heart,” quoting Indian author Amit Ray while showing a stitched photo of Cuneta distributing relief packs.
Other celebrities who have also extended help to Odette victims are Kris Aquino, Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, among others.
Super typhoon Odette hit the country last Thursday, Dec. 16. The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council reported that the death toll has risen to 326, while 58 are still missing as of this writing. /ra
