Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes split after 2 years, promise to stay ‘best friends’
Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello and Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes have parted ways after two years of being in a relationship, they announced today, Nov. 18.
The two told fans about their breakup in a joint statement in their respective Instagram Stories today. While they are no longer together, Cabello and Mendes assured fans that they will still be friends.
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” Cabello and Mendes said. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.”
They also expressed appreciation to their fans for supporting them “from the beginning and moving forward.”
Cabello and Mendes have been friends since 2014 and first collaborated for the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer” in 2015.
