Gladys Reyes mourns death of father due to multiple organ failure

Gladys Reyes paid tribute to her father as she is currently grieving over his death due to multiple organ failure.
The actress, a self-admitted “papa’s girl,” showed a throwback video of herself with her father, Sonyer, while they sing Engelbert Humperdinck’s “The Way It Used To Be” on her Instagram page yesterday, Oct. 25.
“Magkikita tayo muli sa bayang banal, Pa (We’ll see each other in the holy land, Pa),” Reyes said. Her father succumbed to multiple organ failures involving his heart, lungs and kidney but he tested negative for COVID-19.
“Thank you Pa, I will always be a Papa’s girl! Mission accomplished,” she addressed her father.
Reyes also showed a photo of the older Reyes’ hand on his Instagram page today, Oct. 26. Her father underwent a successful angioplasty last January after suffering from a heart attack.

Reyes gave a glimpse of the memorial service for her father on her Instagram Story, also today. She assured that proper safety protocols and scheduling will be practiced during the intimate gathering.
“Thank God, nag-negative siya for [COVID-19]. Pero unfortunately, hindi na kinaya ng papa ko. Pagod na siya,” she said. “At least we’ll get to say a proper goodbye sa kanya.”
(Thank God, he tested negative for COVID-19. But unfortunately, papa could not take it anymore. He was already tired. At least we’ll get to say a proper goodbye to him.)
