LJ Reyes says forgiving Paolo Contis not an easy process, but she’s trying
LJ Reyes is now working on forgiving her ex-partner Paolo Contis after their recent breakup, though she admits the process is not easy for her.
The actress said she is taking her first steps in forgiving Contis, in an exclusive interview with Nelson Canlas for “24 Oras” yesterday, Oct. 12.
“Forgiveness is a work in progress. Lahat naman tayo we get hurt (we all get hurt), angry but you work on it every day to forgive people or whoever. You pray about it,” she told Canlas.
“Hindi kasi siya madaling bagay na ibigay, so surrender lang talaga kay God and I’m working on it,” she added. (It’s not an easy thing to do, so I just surrender it to God and I’m working on it.)
Reyes also recognized her fans, family and God who all served as her support system while she is staying abroad.
The actress and her two children flew to New York, United States last August in the wake of her split with Contis. She is staying with her family, which is based there.
Contis’ manager Lolit Solis confirmed last August that the actor has broken up with Reyes, but her assertion that the split was mutual was refuted by Reyes. Contis eventually admitted that he cheated on Reyes but insisted that his “A Faraway Land” co-star Yen Santos was not involved in the breakup.
Reyes and Contis were together for six years. They have one child, a daughter named Summer. Reyes also has another child, Aki, whom she had with actor Paulo Avelino. Dana Cruz/JB
