Portraying a mad scientist yet again, Christopher Lloyd has taken on the role of Rick Sanchez, as shown in a live-action teaser of the hit Adult Swim cartoon “Rick and Morty.”
Lloyd stars alongside Jaeden Martell (“Knives Out”), playing his grandson Morty, as seen in a short clip Adult Swim tweeted yesterday, Sept. 3.
“C-132 #rickandmorty,” it said, seemingly referring to the universe the live-action remake will be set in. No further announcements have been made and it is unsure if Adult Swim will be making a full-blown adaptation.

In the short clip, fans are introduced to Lloyd’s Rick and Martell’s Morty passing through a portal to the Smith family’s recognizable garage.
“Morty, we’re home,” Rick says as he lets out his iconic burp, to which Morty unsurprisingly replies, “Oh geez.”
Lloyd is no stranger to playing such mad-scientist role, as he is most known for portraying Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in the “Back to the Future” trilogy. It is also no secret that the show is inspired by the said franchise, specifically that Rick is based on Doc Brown.
The video dropped just a week before season 5 of the animated series airs its finale.
In the original series, created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, Roiland voices both the nihilistic and alcoholic scientist and his impressionable grandson. /ra
