Nadine Samonte admitted that carrying her third child has been a struggle as she almost had a miscarriage early into her pregnancy.
“This journey is particularly different from my [two] kids. We almost lost our baby during my first trimester but with God’s grace and guidance, hindi niya kami pinabayaan (he did not neglect us),” the Starstruck alum said on her Instagram page yesterday, July 5.
Samonte then showed her baby bump which had several bruises, and a syringe and a bottle of medicine on top of it.
The actress revealed that she still has the hormonal disorder polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and the autoimmune disorder antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APAS), which causes her bruises and puts her at risk of having a miscarriage.
Despite her condition, Samonte remains optimistic and vowed that she will stay strong throughout her pregnancy.
“Not complaining but, hey, I can say I’m one strong momma here fighting for my babies. Ang dami kong iniyak sa journey na [‘to pero] I won’t give up ever! (I cried a lot during this journey but I won’t give up ever),” she told her fans.
Samonte then encouraged fellow mothers who are in the same situation as her and stated that her “rainbow baby” will be her last.
“Go APAS and PCOS mommas out there. Kaya natin [‘to] (We can do this),” she said. “Hello to our rainbow baby soon. Our last.”
Samonte tied the knot with husband Richard Chua in 2013. Their two children Heather and Titus were born in 2016 and 2019, respectively. The actress announced last month that she is about to welcome her third child. JB
