“Pinoy Big Brother” alum Andre Brouillette has also denied romance rumors linking him to Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo after they were spotted together in the United States.
At the time he grabbed lunch with Mateo, he was in Miami as “a fly-in host and a correspondent in Miss Universe,” Brouillette explained in an exclusive interview with Star Magic’s “Inside News” yesterday, May 28.
“Rabiya is Miss Universe Philippines 2020. And we have the same agency, the same team that’s managing her. I was able to meet her as I came to Miami to do hosting for Miss Universe updates,” Brouillette explained in an exclusive interview with Star Magic’s “Inside News” yesterday, May 28.
“I can’t control what people think. With that photo, what happened was we picked her up from the airport. We had time and we were all hungry. We went out and had a great lunch in Beverly Hills,” he added.
Brouillette clarified that his reason behind uploading the photo of him with Mateo was only because he had “a great time with friends and a great lunch with Miss Universe Philippines 2020.”
“Great photo to upload, right? For the memories? But again, I can’t control the things that people say and also, not everything people say is always true,” he said.
“I try not to read into all that stuff ‘cause, of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion,” Brouillette added.
Brouillette then stressed that they are “great friends” and that he has “utmost respect for her,” wishing the beauty queen success in her career.
Prior to Brouillette’s interview, Mateo also brushed off the said rumors by simply saying she is “not available” and that there is “no malice” in her photos with Brouillette, as seen in her Instagram Stories on May 26.
Netizens first speculated that the two are dating after both of them uploaded photos from the said lunch, which was around the time Mateo’s longtime boyfriend Neil Salvacion seemingly deleted photos of her from his Instagram account. /ra
