P-pop boy band SB19 expressed their gratitude to fans for helping them reach their recent milestone at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), which concluded on May 24.
SB19 released a short video on the same day thanking their dedicated fandom, A’TIN, as they claimed the third spot under the Top Social Artist category.
“[Gusto] lang po naming magpasalamat sa mga taong sumuporta at sumusuporta po sa amin lalong lalo na sa kakatapos lang na Billboard Music Awards,” said Pablo, one of the five SB19 members.
(We would like to thank all those who supported and continue to support us, most especially during the recently concluded Billboard Music Awards.)
The group also congratulated K-pop supergroup BTS for claiming the Top Social Artist title, which they have been winning for the past five consecutive years.
“And of course, we would like to congratulate BTS for winning multiple awards at [the] Billboard Music Awards. Grabe (Wow)! You guys are the best,” SB19’s Josh said.
Aside from being 2021’s Top Social Artist, BTS also bagged the Top Selling Song award for “Dynamite,” the Top Song Sales Artist title and the Top Duo/Group award.
Despite not claiming the title for now, SB19 remained grateful to their beloved A’TIN as they note that they still have a lot to go through together.
“[Para] sa aming pinakamamahal na A’TIN, kahit na hindi tayo nanalo o wala tayong nakuhang awards, we are very happy kasi napakalaking achievement ito para sa atin at syempre, napakswerte namin dahil kasama namin kayo para sa journey na ‘to,” SB19’s Stell, meanwhile, said.
(To our beloved A’TIN, even if we did not win or get any awards, we are very happy because this is a huge achievement for us and of course, we are very lucky that you guys are with us throughout this journey.)
“Sana andyan pa rin kayo kahit anong mangyari dahil marami pa tayong pagsasamahan at pagdadaanan (We hope you are still here with us whatever happens because we still have a lot to go through together),” he added.
Aside from BTS, SB19 went up against K-pop groups Blackpink and Seventeen and American pop star Ariana Grande under the said category, which determined winners via fan voting.
SB19 is the first Filipino act to be nominated under the Top Social Artist category. They are set to hold the “Back in the Zone” online concert on July 18. /ra
