Ken Chan’s mother was only joking back then when she asked her son for a red car once he became successful—now, she finally has one.
The GMA star shared with fans his latest gift to his mom via Instagram yesterday, April 15, where he shared photos of her with her brand-new ride.
“[Ten] years ago pabirong sinabi sa akin ni Mama: ‘Anak kapag naging successful ka sa career mo bigyan mo ako ng pulang kotse ah’ at natawa siya sa sinabi niya,” Chan recalled.
(Ten years ago, Mama jokingly told me: “My son, when you become successful in your career, give me a red car,” then she laughed at what she said.)
“Hindi niya alam na tumatak yun sa isip ko at hindi rin niya alam na tutuparin ko yung biro niya (What she did not know was that it stuck in my mind and that I would actually fulfill her joke),” Chan said.

“This is for you Ma, enjoy the ride! I love you!” the doting son said.
Fellow celebrities congratulated Chan’s mother and commended the actor for his sweet gesture. Rayver Cruz, for one, said in the comments: “Nice one brother best feeling stay blessed.”
“Awwww!!! Congrats tita!!! Snappy salute sayo (to you) @akosikenchan!!” Rocco Nacino, meanwhile, said.

Chan renewed his contract with GMA just last February. He has appeared in several programs over the years, including 2019’s “One of the Baes,” where he starred opposite Rita Daniela.
The two are also set to star in the upcoming movie “My First and Always,” which they filmed last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic. /ra
