The “Friends” production team announced that they have finally finished filming for the much-awaited special reunion, after initial delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That’s a wrap! Could we BE any more excited!? Friends: The Reunion is coming,” the official Instagram account for the hit 1990s TV show stated in a post today, April 11. The announcement came with a photo of the special’s poster and what appears to be the set for the show.

“Friends: The Reunion” resumed filming last week in Los Angeles, California, as David Schwimmer confirmed during an interview with “The Graham Norton Show” last April 2.

“We’re not in character so we’re all ourselves, the real people. But there is one section where we read something,” the actor said, not wanting to give away much about the special.

So far, it has been announced that the reunion will be an unscripted interview with the cast, but the host is yet to be named. It will not be a one-off reboot where the cast will act as their iconic characters.

In the reunion, Schwimmer (Ross Geller) will be appearing with co-stars Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Cox), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani).

The HBO Max special reunion initially planned to start filming in March 2020, but lockdowns due to COVID-19 in the United States pushed back the production. JB
