Sandara Park was treated to some of her favorite Filipino dishes, thanks to Korean actor Jung Il-woo.

Il-woo showed off his culinary skills for Park, who has been his friend for 13 years, in his YouTube vlog posted last Friday, Jan. 29. The two starred in the 2009 K-drama “The Return of Iljimae” and have remained friends since.

Il-woo told Park that he looked up her favorite dishes and decided to make them for her. These are beef kaldereta, seafood sinigang and garlic rice.

Park immediately gushed, “Sinigang is my favorite. It’s my favorite dish out of all Filipino foods and I never have my meals without it.”

She was also touched by the gesture, telling him, “I mean, who is going to cook Filipino food for me in Korea?”

The actor assigned Park as his “sous chef” and gave her instructions to help him in the kitchen. While cooking, Dara told him about places in the Philippines that are fun to vacation in, since he had never been to the country. She said Palawan was her favorite destination and also recommended Cebu and Boracay.

While enjoying the dishes, the Korean stars talked about their longtime friendship. They made it clear that there was nothing more between them — Il-woo even made a point to say that shooting the vlog felt like a date, but he did not have any “tingling feelings.” Fans in the comments section, however, felt otherwise, noting the chemistry between the two.

Though she is already based in Korea, Park has remained close to Filipino fans’ hearts. The singer and actress was part of the first season of the reality talent competition “Star Circle Quest” in 2004. She found success in K-pop when she joined the girl group 2NE1 in 2009. JB
