WATCH: Vicki Belo admits crying over favorite Birkin bag after it was stolen
Vicki Belo’s passion for luxury bags was put on full display as she gave fans “a most requested closet tour” in her latest vlog.
The dermatologist-to-the-stars showcased her collection of Hermes Birkins, as well as Louis Vuitton and Prada bags, while fashion stylist Bang Pineda organized her closet in a video posted on her YouTube channel Thursday, Jan. 28.
Belo revealed that she has been collecting Hermes for 20 years and prefers “lively colors” — Birkins in purples and bright greens could be seen among her collection.
Her favorite one, however, happens to be a black Birkin, but it is no longer in her possession.
“Actually iyong pinaka-favorite ko nawala, ninakaw. I don’t know who got it,” she lamented. “But it was black on black, it was a very special edition. It didn’t even have an orange box, it had a black box.”
She recalled the moment she realized it was gone: “It was a one-of-a-kind collectors’ edition but when I opened the box a few months ago, that black bag was gone. Iyong box andoon pero sa loob ng box (The box was still there but inside the box) was a white Hermes which wasn’t the right bag. Yeah, I cried.”
Belo may have been referring to the limited edition Birkin So Black by French haute couture designer Jean Paul Gaultier, who was Hermes’ creative director from 2003 to 2010. So rare are the said bags that some have been auctioned off. The world auction record for the Hermes So Black collection is $208,000 (P9.9 million).
She shared too that when it comes to Hermes bags, Birkins are nice to look at but are quite heavy, so she prefers carrying around an Hermes Lindy.
Belo also professed her love for Louis Vuitton bags, while Prada is her go-to when it comes to traveling. JB
