The singer made this emotional revelation during the Christmas special of GMA’s singing competition “The Clash,” where she was previously a judge.

“Medyo bingi po, hindi pala medyo, bingi po talaga ang nangyari sa akin dito sa right ko, kaming mag-asawa. Meron po kaming vestibular disfunction kaya kailangan po namin ng alalay lagi,” she said.

(I was slightly deaf, no, I really became deaf on my right ear, my husband and I. We have vestibular dysfunction so we really need aid at all times.)

She said it was her husband who was first rushed to the ICU on October 9. A day after, she was also brought to the hospital after suffering from body aches and a “pounding headache.”

“Meron lang talaga kaming patuloy na nararamdaman which is ‘yung dizziness, and pagkahina ng pandinig,” she added. “Para kang nasa ilalim ng tubig, so muffled talaga saka high-pitched.”

(We are still feeling dizzy and have difficulty hearing. It feels like we are underwater, so the sounds we hear are muffled and high-pitched.)

Nevertheless, the iconic Filipino singer said she is still thankful for all the prayers and support she has received.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoong Diyos dahil buhay ako, buhay kaming mag-asawa. Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng mga kaibigan at pamilya ko at supporters ko. They have been praying for me and I know that, and I am very, very grateful for that,” she said.

(I am thankful to God that I and my husband are alive. Thank you to all my friends, family, and supporters. They have been praying for me and I know that, and I am very, very grateful for that.)
