Jewelry company behind Jessy Mendiola’s redesigned ring answers credit-grabbing claims
The jewelry company accused of taking credit for Jessy Mendiola’s engagement ring has slammed its rival’s “defamatory” statement.
Manila Diamond Studio broke its silence last Wednesday, Dec. 16 via Instagram after Radiant Jewelry said that its team was the “original creators” of the ring. Radiant’s statement, released last Dec. 13, has since been deleted.
“Manila Diamond Studio therefore takes exception to the defamatory statements posted by Radiant Lux Jewelry on its social media platforms. With the strongest of words, Manila Diamond Studio denies the accusation of credit-grabbing and unethical practice,” it said.

Mendiola aired her side in a vlog on Tuesday, Dec. 15, stating that she decided to have the ring redesigned because her friend from Radiant Jewelry showed her the ring before Manzano proposed to her. She noted that at the time, which was May this year, she and Manzano were facing relationship problems. Manzano purchased the ring from Radiant Jewelry in September 2019.

When she and Manzano posted photos from an engagement shoot, she credited Manila Diamond Studio, of which she is also an ambassador.
“In line with her (Mendiola’s) recent vlog dated December 15, 2020, the ring that finally marks the engagement of Mr. Manzano to his beloved is a product of the company’s craftmanship and Ms. Mendiola’s heart and inspiration,” Manila Diamond Studio asserted.
“While the centerpiece diamond used was taken from a ring commissioned, purchased, and fully paid by [Mr.] Manzano, the make and design of Ms. Mendiola’s engagement ring, from the band to the setting of the diamonds, are original and the fruit of the collaboration between Manila Diamond Studio and Ms. Mendiola.”
Following the fiasco, Mendiola posted a message that appeared to address the bad publicity on Thursday, Dec. 17.
She shared a photo of her embracing Manzano, engagement sparkler on her left finger.

“Starting a new chapter with the love of my life. We will never let anyone ruin our happiness,” she insisted. “Love will always prevail.”
The couple announced their engagement on Dec. 12, two months after the proposal. They have been together for four years. JB
