Andrea Torres has finally confirmed that she and Derek Ramsay have parted ways after the latter responded to breakup rumors on social media.
The actress addressed their breakup in a short statement she sent to the news program “24 Oras” yesterday, Nov. 20.
“Yes, Derek and I are no longer together,” the actress said, as seen in a clip on the show’s YouTube page on the same day.
“I’d rather keep the details private as I want to give the breakup the same amount of respect that I had for the relationship,” Torres added. “I think you all know how much it meant to me.”
Though they have officially ended their relationship, Torres said that she will “always wish him and his family well.”
Her statement came a day after Ramsay confirmed their split on social media. The actor admitted that they have called it quits after an Instagram user stated that “something is wrong with Andrea.”
Ramsay also appealed to their fans to not blame anyone and stressed that there was no third party involved in their breakup.
“The breakup has happened so fast,” he expressed. “Maybe [two] people are just not meant to be.”
Fans began to speculate that they had already broken up when the two removed photos of them together from their Instagram accounts.
Ramsay admitted that he and Torres were “more than friends” in September 2019 while they co-starred in the GMA teleserye “The Better Woman.” /ra
