Pokwang has her househelp undergo swab tests to make sure that they are safe from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The comedienne (real name: Marietta Subong) revealed that she has her helpers tested regularly, as per her Instagram post yesterday, Nov. 4.

“[M]abuti na ang sigurado (It is better to be sure),” she said alongside a photo of one of her helpers receiving a swab test while three others line up for their own.

Pokwang also said all of their test results came back negative as usual and that she will have them tested again after two weeks.

Prior to having her helpers tested, the comedienne previously panicked over COVID-19 last August when former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Baninay Bautista revealed she came down with the disease.

Bautista said she tested positive for the coronavirus in a vlog post on Aug. 18, just two days after she guested on the “Chika Besh” talk show, which Pokwang hosts. Pokwang then called out Bautista for not clarifying that the latter had already tested negative for the virus on Aug. 2, causing her and the show’s team to panic.

Following Pokwang’s call-out, Bautista’s vlog now states that it was filmed on July 21. Bautista also appeared to have addressed the issue, as per her post on Twitter on Aug. 19.

“We already talked and settled things in private. I apologized for causing fear and ngayon po ay clear na lahat (now everything has been cleared up),” she said. “Again, sorry po. Wala po talaga akong intensyon na masama (I really had no bad intentions).”

The Department of Health reported that there are currently 388,137 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, as of yesterday, Nov. 4. It added that 7,367 have already died due to the disease while 349,091 patients have recovered. NVG
