The prequel to 2013 hit comedy-drama film “Four Sisters and a Wedding” has begun production.
“Day 1: rolling!” actress Alexa Ilacad confirmed yesterday as she posed with her “Four Sisters Before the Wedding” costars.
Ilacad will portray the ambitious Bobbie, Gillian Vicencio will give life to the street-smart Alex, Charlie Dizon will be charismatic eldest sister Teddie and Belle Mariano will play level-headed Gabbie.
The original film endeared itself to audiences in part because it involved Star Cinema’s top actresses as the Salazar sisters: Bea Alonzo as Bobbie, Angel Locsin as Alex, Toni Gonzaga as Teddie and Shaina Magdayao as Gabbie.
Ilacad also announced in her Instagram post that the film will be directed by Mae Cruz Alviar (“Dolce Amore”, “Crazy Beautiful You”). When the project was first unveiled in February, Giselle Andres was touted as the director.
“Four Sisters and a Wedding”, directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and based on a screenplay by Jose Javier Reyes, featured the Salazar sisters plotting against their brother’s (Enchong Dee) marriage. In the process, the sisters are forced to face long-running sibling rivalries.
The film has become a pop culture favorite on social media, with scenes such as Bobbie’s “Bakit parang kasalanan ko?” line and Locsin dragging Mocha Uson by the hair during a fight becoming viral memes. JB
