Kris Aquino expressed her love and appreciation for her eldest sister Maria Elena “Ballsy” Aquino Cruz as she marked her 65th birthday today, Aug. 18.
Kris reminisced on how Ballsy used to give her special treats as a child whenever it was her elder sister’s payday. Her “Ate” also took care of her when their mother Cory was given overnight prison visit “privileges” with their father Ninoy.
“[This] pandemic has taught me to express my LOVE while [I] still can,” Kris said on her Instagram page yesterday, Aug. 17.
The TV host waxed nostalgic as she showed a family photo of her and her sisters with their late parents and a picture of Ballsy dressed as a “super cute [doll-like] flower girl.”
According to Kris, Ballsy is still the person who she could “always open my heart to and never feel judged,” until now.
“[She’s] the one who never tires of praying for me, looking out for my sons [and] me, and most of all listening to me, guiding me, and giving me just so much unconditional [and] unquestioning love,” Kris said.
The Queen of All Media described her sister as a person who tries to see the good in everyone and everything. Aside from her sons Josh and Bimby, Kris said that Ballsy is the one she wants most to be proud of her.
“[Whatever] good has managed to manifest in me, it’s because [I] have been blessed so much more than [I] could ever deserve for having been given my ATE,” she declared.
Kris opened up about her relationship with her siblings when she turned 49 last February. She admitted that she and her siblings have had their misunderstandings and “internal disputes” but still manage to stay in touch with one another. The TV host gave her Ate “100% credit” for doing her best to keep her siblings united, just as she promised to their late mother.
Politicians Ninoy and Cory have five children namely Ballsy, Aurora Corazon (Pinky), Benigno Simeon III (Noynoy), Victoria Eliza (Viel) and Kristina Bernadette (Kris). JB
