Monty Macalino, frontman of local rock band Mayonnaise, treated fans with the cover of “Circles”, one of Post Malone’s biggest hits released last year.
Macalino shared his take on “Circles” through the band’s YouTube channel yesterday, July 7. The rocker noted that the hit is one of their favorite songs from the American artist.
“Stay safe as we continue to bring the gig experience to your homes, MayoNation,” the band noted.
Macalino rocked a rainbow-themed shirt while playing at the Yellow Room Recording Studio in Alabang for the cover, in which he performed both vocals and guitar.
In the heartfelt song, released by Post Malone in August 2019, the American artist reflects on a fleeting romantic relationship. Post Malone described “Circles” as “a little f*cking different” with a “fat f*cking groove.”
“Circles” then appeared as part of Post Malone’s album “Hollywood’s Bleeding”, released in September 2019.
Macalino meanwhile also covered another one of his favorite songs last week, namely “Really”, from K-pop girl group BLACKPINK. JB
