LOOK: Jodi Sta. Maria cuts her driver’s hair at home amid quarantine
Jodi Sta. Maria took on the role of a hairdresser right at her own home to give her driver a haircut, while salons and barbershops remain closed due to the enhanced community quarantine.
“As part of our #newnormal, ako ang naatasang maging hairdresser sa bahay (I was the one assigned to be a hairdresser at home),” she said on her Instagram page last Saturday, May 23.
“My first victim… our ever loyal driver, Joey. Mukhang happy naman siya (He looks happy),” Sta. Maria joked, alongside a photo of her and Joey.
During the haircut, Joey wore a trash bag over his shirt to catch falling strands while Sta. Maria used a comb and clippers to trim his locks.
Along with Sta. Maria, other celebrities also learned how to cut their family members’ hair during the quarantine.
Marian Rivera trimmed Dingdong Dantes’ hair while Dantes gave their son Sixto a haircut for his first birthday last month. Solenn Heussaff also hacked off her husband Nico Bolzico’s locks last March. Bolzico later decided to simply shave his own head, and joked about looking like Woody Harrelson instead of Brad Pitt, with his new shaven hairstyle.
Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry is set to study how hairdressing services can operate amid the COVID-19 pandemic to determine if they would be allowed to reopen in areas that have already been placed under general community quarantine. JB
