Dawn Zulueta donated boxes of DIY face shields to the health workers at Philippine General Hospital (PGH) amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.
The medical center uploaded photos of Zulueta’s donations on its Instagram page yesterday, March 31.
“Thank you @dawnzulueta for donating [eight] boxes of DIY face shields in addition to your initial donation!” the hospital said.
The actress then shared the post on her own page, saying, “In solidarity, and prayers for all our self-sacrificing [frontliners] and [patients].”

PGH began accepting COVID-19 patients last Friday, March 27, to lessen the burden of other medical centers that have been treating confirmed cases. Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the hospital has initially allocated 130 beds for COVID-19 patients whose conditions range from severe to critical.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has increased to 2,084 as of yesterday. The Department of Health also reported that 49 have now recovered, while 88 have died. /ra
