WATCH: Maine Mendoza collaborates with Gracenote for ‘Parang Kailan Lang’ music video
After her commercial success in acting, Maine Mendoza is now pursuing a career in music as she released the music video for her debut single “Parang Kailan Lang” yesterday, March 27. The musical endeavor is a collaboration between Mendoza and local pop-rock band Gracenote under the music label Universal Records.
Mendoza allured the viewers in the track’s dreamy music video while she sang about a type of love that has lost its flare, as seen on Universal Records’ YouTube channel. Mendoza sang with Gracenote’s vocalist Eunice Jorge and was accompanied by the rest of the band throughout the slow song.
“O bakit nga ba tayo nagbago / Nakasanayan ay biglang naglaho,” she sang. “Nakalimutan nang lahat ng pangako / At binaon nalang sa kahapon.”
(Oh why did we change / All the things we were used to vanished / Forgot all promises / And buried in the past.)
To further emphasize the disparity between the past and the present, which the song echoes, Mendoza transitions from an isolated commute to a dreamy pastel hallway in the music video. Gracenote also joined Mendoza for a mini garden-themed concert.

The comedienne gave cash to several employees who are struggling to earn for living through her “DoNation Drive” fundraiser. /ra
