Ben&Ben will be holding an online concert to raise funds for COVID-19 efforts amid the spread of the disease in the Philippines.
The event is titled “Puhon!” and will stream on the folk-pop band’s Facebook page on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m., as per their post today, March 22.
“As artists, we believe that in a crisis like this we are called to do what we can to help — may it be by sending messages of hope, making efforts in raising funds for this crisis, or others,” the band stated.
The concert is part of an initiative of the same title that seeks to raise funds through music and stories, as seen on its official website. The donations collected from the effort will be used for personal protective equipment for health workers, testing kits and relief goods for daily wage workers.
The initiative’s beneficiaries include The University of the Philippines-Manila National Institutes of Health, Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, One Nation Against COVID-19 Project, CDO COVID Donation Drive and PantawidCovid Project.
In line with the precautions against the disease, Ben&Ben “will jam with each other playing their hits for a one (1) hour live stream show while staying in their own homes.” The website also included a link where those interested to extend their help may deposit monetary donations.
For the online concert, the band is partnering with YSEALI, Limitless Lab and the Asian Institute of Management – Team Energy Center For Bridging Leadership.
Along with Ben&Ben, ABS-CBN stars such as Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin and Julia Montes will be holding a three-hour concert at 7 p.m. today to raise funds for those affected by the enhanced community quarantine. JB
