Justin Bieber and Robert de Niro’s tips on how to beat COVID-19
Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber and revered actor Robert de Niro have shared some tips on how to avert the spread of the coronavirus.
Bieber posted on Instagram on Sunday: “#Beat the virus. You may have it and not know it … don’t spread the disease. Stay home as much as you can. Do not go out in groups … no bars, no clubs, no restaurants. Wash your hands often. Keep six feet apart. Isolate yourself if you feel sick. Now is the time to engage online and not in person.“It isn’t just about you, it is about us … all of us … Love you, guys. But if you care about your parents, grandparents or any friend who could be compromised, please stay [home] and be safe. Thanks.”
De Niro, who starred recently in director Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed film “The Irishman” with Al Pacino, is seen wielding a bug spray in an Instagram post on the same day. He said: “Disinfecting these haters one spray at a time.”
On the other hand, Ryan Gosling of “La La Land,” who’s rumored to be the next Thor, if and when Chris Hemsworth decides to relinquish the god of thunder’s hammer, struck a positive note: “There’s always light at the end of the tunnel.”
More canceled shows
Meanwhile, more artists have announced the cancellation of their shows due to COVID-19 fears. Hitmaker singer-songwriter James Taylor wrote: “I’ve had so many messages urging me to announce a decision regarding our upcoming Canadian tour. We were so looking forward to the tour, it breaks my heart to call it off. But that’s what we must do.
“All the medical information suggests that small and large gatherings may well put people at risk. That is the last thing we would ever want to do. I hope we can reschedule for the not-too-distant future…”
British singer Elton John, whose life story was recently told in the movie “Rocketman,” also announced the cancellation of his farewell tour in an Instagram video.
“The health of my fans is of utmost importance to me, so I have made the decision to reschedule my upcoming #EltonFarewellTour shows between March 26th and May 2nd,” he announced. “Ticketholders of these shows will receive new event information shortly, and all original tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Stay safe and look after each other. I love you all.”
