KZ Tandingan marked her birthday with her own rendition of the James Bond theme “No Time to Die,” which was originally sung by Billie Eilish. Tandingan turned a year older yesterday, March 11.
The singer released her version of the tune “to break usual tradition of receiving gifts on [her] birthday,” she said in her Instagram post on March 10.
Tandingan performed the latest Bond ballad alongside a band, as seen in the video on her YouTube channel. Karel Honasan served as the musical director and was on bass, Ira Cruz on guitar, Jen Florendo on keys, Michael Alba on drums, Lester Sorilla on trumpet, and Yosha Honasan was the backup vocalist.
“Fool me once, fool me twice / Are you death or paradise? / Now you’ll never see me cry / There’s just no time to die,” Tandingan crooned in the clip.
Eilish first released the song last month, which she wrote with her brother Finneas O’Connell. The 18-year-old is also the youngest artist to record a Bond track.
While Tandingan celebrated her birthday with her rendition of the said song, her longtime boyfriend and now fiancé, TJ Monterde, marked his special day last December by getting engaged to Tandingan.
As part of the many preparations for their upcoming wedding, the two flew to Japan last month for a dreamy engagement shoot.
One photo, which showed Tandingan wearing a veil, led others to believe that the two had already tied the knot. However, Monteverde later clarified that they had yet to be married and the image was simply part of their pictorial. /ra
