Gabbi Garcia and her older sister Alex Lopez are growing their passion for music into a school for kids and teens.
The sisters presided over the grand opening of Tempo Primo Academy of Music in Parañaque on March 7. The launch was attended by their parents, Tes and Vince Lopez, as well as Garcia’s boyfriend, Khalil Ramos.
The school offers voice, piano, guitar and drum lessons, Garcia said in her Instagram post on Monday, March 9.
Alex finished a bachelor’s degree in music at St. Scholastica’s College – Manila, majoring in Music Education with Percussion Principal. She herself will conduct drumming classes after training under professional drummer Michael Alba, according to the Tempo Primo Instagram page.
In a video she shared on Instagram, Garcia said during the event, “Hopefully we could inspire young kids, hopefully we could start a movement [where] you feel like it’s hard to learn music, it’s not hard at all in Tempo Primo.” /ra
