Weeks after Taal Volcano’s eruption, actress Heart Evangelista went to Batangas to check on the affected animals and help address their needs. Aside from her volunteer work, she also urged the public to donate more food and supplies for the animals.

Evangelista joined the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) on its drive to Batangas, as seen on her Instagram post today, Feb. 6. To ensure her safety, the actress wore an N95 face mask and a black cap together with PAWS’ green volunteer uniform.

While other dogs were being fed, Evangelista cradled one in her arms. “Don’t worry little one, we’re all doing what we can to give all of you the love and care you need during this time,” she assured the dog.

In Batangas, the actress also helped in feeding other stray animals and taking care of horses. Evangelista shared with her followers the current state of the surrounding area near the volcano via her Instagram Stories.

“5 [kilometers] away from Taal with @pawsphilippines,” she captioned her pictures.
