Dimples Romana says she is ‘the most bungisngis kontrabida of all’
While she plays Daniela Mondragon as a fearsome character, Dimples Romana is actually the opposite in real life.
Romana compared herself to Mondragon as the TV show began its countdown to its last few episodes. Romana took a few behind-the-scenes footage of their last shoot for the series finale trailer on her Instagram account today, Jan. 29.
Romana called herself “the most bungisngis (bubbly) kontrabida of all.”
The actress gave her fans a glance at what she does in between “the super serious, intense scenes.” Romana smiled and laughed while donning her regal costume and also made wacky poses. She added that those who know her well in real life also see how easygoing she is.
“Mabilis ako matouch, mabilis din akong [mapatawa],” she stated. “Kaya hanggat maaari hindi ako nagshshare ng photos or videos behind the scenes ng KG dahil mabubuko na palatawa pala si Dani Girl.”
(I am easily touched and it is easy to make me laugh. This is why as much as possible, I do not share behind the scene photos or videos of KG [“Kadenang Ginto”] because [the audience] will know that Dani Girl laughs a lot.)
She added, “Masisira ang kontrabida look ko sa inyo (My villainous persona will be ruined for you).”
Romana also went into detail about how she understood her character. She said it was far from her personal life especially since her husband and her children “made everything perfect” for her.
“Daniela is full of angst, envy, insecurities and jealousy,” she said. “[While I] feel so much love that I have no room for any of [that] negativity in me.”
The actress narrated how her family has been her source of strength and inspiration to play the fierce character. She also shared how she missed important family events for the show.
“They have understood and forgiven me over and over again,” she said. “And they cheered me on since the beginning hanggang ngayon (until now) that we are almost finished.”
Romana also stressed that if there was one thing she and Mondragon had in common, it was their love for family.
As Romana says farewell to “Kadenang Ginto”, she welcomes a new project with director Mikhail Red. Romana stars in the zombie movie “Block Z” with actors Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia. The film shows in cinemas starting today, Jan. 29. NVG
