Actor-host John Lapus hopes former President Rodrigo Duterte will face definitive imprisonment following the latter’s arrest for crimes against humanity that involved alleged extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during his war on drugs.

Lapus took to X (formerly Twitter) to share INQUIRER.net’s story about Sen. Bong Go — a known Duterte ally — seeking prayers for the former chief executive.

On Tuesday, March 11, Duterte was served an arrest warrant from the ICC upon his arrival in the Philippines from Hong Kong. He then boarded a chartered flight to The Hague on Wednesday. He will be detained in the Dutch prison as he faces an investigation and a court trial.

Netizens echoed Lapus’ sentiments in the comments section, stating their desire for his prayers to be heard.

“We pray with you po. Makulong sa Hague (To be imprisoned in Hague),” wrote one netizen.

“Yes. We are praying na makulong na ang mga dapat makulong (that those who should be imprisoned will be imprisoned),” added another netizen.
