Weeks before the last episode of the TV drama series “Kadenang Ginto”, it was announced that an Indonesian TV network picked up the show for a remake. “Putri Mahkota” (Crown Princess), its Indonesian adaptation, premiered on Jan. 5.

The Filipino TV show is also “the first Philippine drama to be adapted by AnTV,” as per “Kadenang Ginto’s” production unit, Dreamscape Entertainment on its Instagram page last Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The adaptation appears to follow the same complex tale of Romina Andrada (played by Beauty Gonzalez) and Daniela Mondragon (played by Dimples Romana), two sworn rivals intertwined by blood and circumstance.

Romina Andrada, a rape victim who rose from poverty after marrying a business tycoon, Robert Mondragon (Albert Martinez), is up against Robert’s daughter Daniela. Daniela seduced Andrada’s former fiance, marrying him and bearing his child. Now, the two women fight for their children’s rights to the inheritance of the Mondragon business empire.

Snippets of “Putri Mahkota” follow the scenes from “Kadenang Ginto”, as seen in a video posted by Dreamscape Entertainment on Jan. 14.

The production unit also announced the afternoon series was down to its last few days. The show’s “explosive” ending involves Daniela Mondragon planting a bomb at Romina’s event, causing a commotion.

“Isang pasabog ang magaganap (An explosion is about to happen)!” Dreamscape announced via Instagram last Monday, Jan. 13. NVG
