Youku is on board “Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten”. The animated show for preschoolers, lead by main voice actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is developed with 4 to 7-year-old kids in mind.
The Chinese video streaming platform, analogous to YouTube, is partnering with Genius Brands International, the entertainment company responsible for “Llama Llama”, “Baby Genius” and “Rainbow Rangers”.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the voice behind Arnold Armstrong, a gym teacher whose superhero identity is Captain Courage. Captain Courage lost his powers in a battle against his rival supervillain, but when preschoolers started to show their superhero potential, Arnold Armstrong helps them learn how to handle their powers.
Youku joins a co-production partnership that already includes Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Oak Productions — POW! Entertainment, which survives Marvel Comics multihyphenate Stan Lee. At least 52 episodes have been planned for the series. CL/NVG
