After discrimination in NY store, Regine Velasquez gets flowers from Louis Vuitton

MANILA, Philippines — After Regine Velasquez previously faced discrimination at a Louis Vuitton store in New York, it was revealed that the luxury house later sent flowers to the Asia’s Songbird.

It appears that on hearing of her struggle, the fashion house sent a bouquet to the singer as its way of apologizing, according to an episode of  “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired Monday night.

In her first vlog entry, Velasquez revealed that she struggled with obtaining one of her prized high heels from the French luxury house.

She revealed that as she attempted to enter the store, someone already blocked her way and said that her shoe size for that particular pair was already out of stock.

“Actually, okay pa ‘yun (that was still okay). I don’t mind [it] naman eh,” Velasquez told talk show host Boy Abunda during the interview.

“Sa akin, ‘Okay, if you don’t want to entertain me, I’ll find somebody else… At ipapakita ko sa talaga sa kanya na bibilhan ko yung tao na ‘yun, ‘yun na lang comeback ko,” Velasquez added.

(For me, I’d say “Okay, if you don’t want to entertain me, I’ll find somebody else. And I would show that person that I will buy everything what that person wants, that will be my comeback.)

In the same interview, megastar Sharon Cuneta also revealed that she too faced discrimination three times. She revealed that one instance happened at a Cartier store in Hong Kong.

“I was in Hong Kong, I entered a Cartier store. Very simple kasi, [I was wearing] shirt lang and jeans,” Cuneta recalled.

Cuneta said that when she asked “Excuse me,” one of the sales representatives replied to her “I’m not finished yet.”

“I was so angry, there was another sales rep that was very nice. And I ended up buying things that I didn’t really need because I was so angry,” Cuneta said.   /muf
