WATCH: Reese Lansangan gets surprise ‘money cake’
Gift or cash? Singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan got both. The pop-folk artist received the delightful double surprise through a birthday cake loaded with several peso bills.
Lansangan will celebrate her birthday this Wednesday, Oct. 16.
“My birthday came three days early!” she wrote on her Twitter account last night, Oct. 13.

Lasangan’s ecstatic squeals could be heard in the video as she pulled the “Happy Birthday” on top of her cake. The cake spilled out orange, red and yellow bills. Her family cheered her on while she got more money, chanting “Spend it!” and “milk tea!”

Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, a curious netizen, Isabelle (@IsaKarina), had to ask a question about hygiene, “Omg [R]eese did the money touch the cake [?] Germsss [laughs] (just kidding) happy bday (your cake is pretty) ”
The musician took the joke in stride and answered, “Naka plastic siya (The bills were in plastic)! And may mini box sa loob (And it has a mini box inside). [laughs]!”
Reese Lansangan’s well established in the music scene with one full album “Arigato, Internet!”, an EP “Of Sound Mind & Memory” and several singles and collaborations.
Lansanga is best known for her tracks “Home” (a song she wrote for Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto’s wedding), “Islands” and “The Chase”. She released her single “An Opportunity to Go to the Moon” last July. JB
