No-show matinee idol getting too big for his britches
Pesky Dude (PD) became a group of concert producers’ worst nightmare when he failed to show up at a gig because, he said, he wasn’t feeling well.
The group, bearing get-well presents, went to PD’s house the following day to check how their popular talent was holding up against the flu.
Much to their surprise, they saw PD looking really healthy—no trace of the cough and colds he was supposedly battling with the night before. They were so sure he faked it!
To address a possible public backlash, the group instead asked PD to record a video for supporters who went to the event the previous night. They made him say he was sorry he was too sick to make it and would just reschedule the show.
Is it really just a case of job burnout, or has PD let fame get to his head?
