James Reid will soon be back to working on a TV series, this time opposite a new leading lady: Nancy McDonie of K-Pop girl group Momoland.
The series, titled “Soulmate,” was announced yesterday, Oct. 4, by ABS-CBN TV production unit Dreamscape. The project is headed by Antoinette Jadaone, who has worked with Reid on the hit TV shows “On the Wings of Love” and “Till I Met You” and the film “Never not Love You.”
Following the exciting news, Reid made one request to fans on Twitter: “I’m honoured to be part of the new project ‘Soulmate’ on ABSCBN but please guys, no love team names.”
“I’ve already got one #jadine,” he wrote, referring to his love team name with girlfriend Nadine Lustre.
The appeal thrilled Jadine fans, to the point that the hashtag #JaDine trended on Twitter in the country, as fans praised Reid and shared their favorite pictures and videos of the couple.

Lustre and Reid have been exploring projects with different lead actors outside of their team-up. Lustre starred in “Ulan” opposite Carlo Aquino last year and in “Indak” with Sam Concepcion, while Reid played Sarah Geronimo’s grandson in 2018’s adaptation of South Korean blockbuster “Miss Granny.” /ra
