Guitarist Nick Valensi teases new The Strokes album as finished
The Strokes’ guitarist Nick Valensi revealed, in a recent interview with New York radio station Q 104.3, that the long-awaited album is in the process of being mixed.
Radio DJ Jonathan Clarke also asked the guitarist if he could announce “when or if the album might see release,” to which Valensi replied, “When, I don’t know. If — I would say, it’s a strong likelihood.”

Although details about the project are still scarce, rumors that The Strokes were working on new material arose last July.
In an interview with Music Business Worldwide, Artist Group International president Marsha Vlasic revealed that the alternative-rock band was “coming with new music,” adding that “having them back on the live music scene is exciting.”

Currently back on the live circuit, The Strokes will headline Ohana Music Festival in Dana Point, California on Sept. 27.
The band will also perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, for next New Year’s Eve. The show was announced to make up for their canceled headlining set at the Governors Ball music festival last June.

According to Brazilian newspaper Destak, The Strokes are also set to headline Lollapalooza’s South American festivals next year, alongside Guns N’ Roses. RGA/JB
