One of my favorite spaces in our house is our homeschool classroom. I like it cause it's bright and cozy. It smells like books, pencils and crayons. There is much to do here like read books, play educational games, do arts and crafts. That is why this is not just my favorite place it is also Dougs and the kids. Even after homeschool my kids still love to hang out here. I tried to make this a place that will enrich them with books and activities they can all enjoy together. Where I am right now is where they mostly sit and spend hours learning. There are times when their lessons come easy and there are times it can be difficult. Most of the times they happily do things but, there are also times they get so frustrated it makes them cry or want to give up and believe they will never get it or are not good enough. I always try my best to encourage them. To never settle on what they believe in at the moment just because they are frustrated. : I also remind them about The fruit of the spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 . This Bible verse works very well for my kids. It changes their demeanor when I ask them, "Do you think that that is the fruit of the Spirit when you think or act that way?" I tell them that these are God's qualities that are given to us as gifts. It is up to us to take it to heart, reminding us who we are because of what God has given us. These qualities transforms the way they think, how they deal with their daily struggles and how they are towards each other and others. What fruit will we produce today? Is it of good or evil thoughts? . I am sitting here on this chair thinking, tomorrow will officially be the start of our homeschooling. A new year to learn together, discover new things and bare with one another. New challenges will come, some more difficult than the other. May this checklist be the thermometer of their character reminding them that they have all these wonderful fruits/qualities in them that God has so generously given to them. ❤️ : Lord, show me your ways. Teach me to follow you. Psalm 25:4
Garcia has earlier stated her intention to homeschool Kendra and Scarlett. Prior to the mother’s plan to homeschool them, the two girls previously studied at CCF Life Academy in Pasig City.
The classroom has a computer set up beside a whiteboard in one part of the area, as seen in the series of photos Garcia shared. Another portion of the room features a long table attached to the wall together with three chairs. It also has a number of shelves filled with books and other learning materials.
“There is much to do here like read books, play educational games, do arts and crafts,” Garcia expressed. “That is why this is not just my favorite place it is also Dougs and the kids.”
Garcia admitted that learning is not always a smooth process for her kids.
“There are times when their lessons come easy,” she said. “And there are times it can be difficult.”
To support her children’s learning, Garcia says she does her best to encourage them. She achieves this by reminding them to “never settle on what they believe in at the moment just because they are frustrated.”
She also cites a Bible verse regarding The Fruits of the Spirit to help inspire her children. An artwork featuring the said Biblical reference is seen above the classroom’s computer.
Garcia and her children will officially begin with homeschooling today, Sept. 2.
Garcia sees the academic year ahead of them as “a new year to learn together, discover new things and bare with one another.”
Aside from the classroom, the Kramer household also features a playground for the children and an indoor theater for the whole family to enjoy. JB
