Megastar Sharon Cuneta and her family recently trooped to New York City to send off daughter Frankie to college and celebrate husband Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s 56th birthday.
Cuneta penned a heartfelt message to her beloved via Instagram on Aug. 25 (Aug. 24 in the United States). To others, Pangilinan may just be a public servant, but to Cuneta, he is many things: her “love, playmate, best friend, biggest encourager, laughmaker, secret-keeper, neighbor, and boyfriend,” among others.
“And I know I am blessed to have you as my better half. I have never loved or appreciated you as much as I do now,” Cuneta said. “Thank you for never letting go of US two even in the most difficult times in our marriage.”
She also said the two of them will still have their own differences in areas such as politics, but added they will always find a common ground with each other.
It is known that Cuneta has shown support for President Rodrigo Duterte, while the president himself publicly endorsed her brother, Chet Cuneta, on his mayoral bid in Pasay City.
Pangilinan has said last April that many Filipino families are divided when it comes to their political views — and theirs is no exception. Cuneta also said last May that she and Pangilinan try to avoid talking about politics at home.
“Thank you for being a fantastic father, a loving and faithful husband, for taking care of me and our ‘troop!’ I truly cannot imagine living without you, and I look forward to growing old and [gray] with you and having no one else to wake up with in the middle of the night who can make me laugh so hard,” said Cuneta.
“I know that by God’s grace, we can now face anything together. I love you very much, Sutart. I am blessed that you are – and thank you for – being my husband. Happy Birthday!!! @kiko.pangilinan,” she added.
Pangilinan, on the other hand, took to his own Instagram today, Aug. 26, to share a loving photo of his wife giving him a kiss.
“My happy birthday kiss!” said Pangilinan. “The best gift it is!” JB
