Jon Lucas ‘grateful and blessed’ for transfer to GMA

Jon Lucas proudly announced his move to GMA on Tuesday, July 2.

The actor shared pictures of his signing on Instagram and called himself “grateful and blessed” after moving to the rival network from ABS-CBN.

He wrote, “Hi Friends I’m now a KAPUSO! GMA, From the bottom of my Heart THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!”

“Promise, hindi ko po kayo bibiguin sa binigay niyo sa aking pagkakataon (Promise, I will not let you down with this opportunity you’ve given me),” he said.

Lucas bid goodbye to ABS-CBN and his management Star Magic on June 19. His TV appearances include “Got to Believe,” “Be Careful with My Heart” and “Ipaglaban Mo.” He stars in the teen films “Haunted Forest” and “Just the Way You Are.”

The 23-year-old was part of the noontime show “It’s Showtime” as a member of all-male dance group Hashtags. Lucas was suspended from the show in 2018; there were speculations that it was because he got his girlfriend and “Showtime” dancer Shy Feras pregnant.

However, a “Showtime” choreographer, Mickey Perz, told the Philippine Ultimate Showbiz Hub in May 2018 that the suspension of Hashtags members was a disciplinary action to teach them to be punctual.

Lucas said in October that he was on an indefinite leave of absence from the show to deal with personal matters, such as the death of his mother and to spend time with his infant son.

The actor is slated to appear in GMA’s “Descendants of the Sun” remake starring Dingdong Dantes and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.  /ra
