What would you give your loved ones this holiday season? What’s your most memorable Christmas?

Actor and Hashtag member Jon Lucas said his family does not celebrate the Christmas season because they are members of Iglesia ni Cristo. However, given the chance, he said he would love to spend the holidays with his dad and siblings.

Jon’s mom passed away from a heart attack recently. “We had planned an out-of-the-country trip before she died. I didn’t want to push through with it anymore, but I changed my mind,” said the 22-year-old. “I don’t want Dad to think that I’m neglecting him now that Mom is no longer here.”

The star of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Haunted Forest” added: “I want him to feel that even though his partner is not around anymore, we—the fruits of their love—still care for him. While we will never be able to replace Mommy’s love for him, we hope to make him feel and appreciate the kind of love us children can give him. It’s just sad that Mom will not be able to join us physically anymore.” —MARINEL R. CRUZ
