Actress Brie Larson, who is known for being vocal about giving opportunities to women and minorities, recently shared the spotlight with her “Captain Marvel” stunt doubles and fight coaches, Renae Moneymaker and Joanna Bennett, after winning the “best fight” popcorn trophy at the MTV Movie and TV Awards held recently in California.

“I could not have made this film without them,” Larson said during her speech, with the stunt women beside her. “They are the living embodiment of Captain Marvel.”

Bennett related that working on the film “was such an honor”: “It was so exciting to be a part of bringing such a strong female character to life, and to be able to do it together made it such a special experience for all of us.”

“Joanna and I actually grew up together,” Moneymaker disclosed. “As young girls, we just wanted to be Lara Croft and GI Jane. So it’s a real honor to be a part of this character and hopefully pass along some of that inspiration and strength that those iconic women brought to us.”
