Tearful excuse from tardy star

12:15 AM June 30, 2019

Appearances can be deceiving. This is true in the case of Pompous Sweetie (PS), who still thinks she is the big star she used to be. But time has a score-evening way of reminding stars who keep demanding special treatment that even they are susceptible to the ravages of aging, wear-and-tear and, yes, bad attitude. But fame, even in instances when it is not fleeting, isn’t forever.

Never mind the sugar-and-spice artifice, PS is only “nice” when it is deemed “helpful” and convenient, even to friends who often end up taking up the cudgels on her behalf against her detractors. Even constructive criticism is a no-no because, for PS, that’s how “unconditional love” is defined—and practiced. No wonder her ego has become as bloated as her overarching perception of self-worth.

Directing Maverick (DM) learned this the hard way when he got PS to star in his passion project. But DM got more than he bargained for when the cameras started grinding. PS kept saying that shooting the film was a breeze when, in fact, PS kept too-nice-for-his-own-good DM and his team waiting and waiting—and waiting some more.

PS did the same thing while taping an episode of a now-defunct venture. Exasperated Insider (EI) said that when PS finally decided to show up, she came up with a tear-soaked excuse that she was heartbroken over something she saw on TV, not noticing that the people around her were just about ready to cry for having waited for her the whole day. In fact, the flowers on the set had withered long before PS decided to grace them with her larger-than-life presence.
