Aiko Melendez slammed a “weight management” product for using her name and photos in its advertisements without her consent.

The actress took to social media to warn the people behind the product to stop using her pictures for endorsements.

“I may have tried your product, but to claim that my weight loss was because of your product IS NOT RIGHT, AND DEFINITELY NOT TRUE!” the actress said via Facebook last Saturday, June 22.

“Lalo na [kung] wala naman nakikipag usap sa akin and my management team regarding endorsement of your company. Bring down your posts [please]!”

(Especially since no one talked to me and to my management team regarding endorsement of your company.)

In the photos attached to her post, she stated that Valentus slim roast, a supplement that claims to help consumers “manage” their weight, was the product that used her photos without her consent.

In a separate post on the same day, Melendez expressed her disappointment at what had happened.

“Nakakainis [yung] nagbabayad ka para sa isang produkto [tapos] ang ending gagamitin [yung] name at pictures mo para makabenta ng product nila. [I’m] upset,” she said.

(It is irritating when you are paying for a product, but in the end, your name and image will be used so they can sell their product.)

She also revealed that she has been traumatized by people who ask her to do video greetings but end up using these greetings to endorse a certain product.

“Kaya pasensya na po hindi ako gagawa muna ng video greet kahit kanino po. Pasensya na po,” Melendez said.

(So, sorry, but I will not be doing any video greetings for anyone for now. Sorry.)

Melendez is not the only actress who has apparently been a victim of false advertising recently. Judy Ann Santos also slammed a weight-loss drink brand early this June for using her to endorse the product. JB
