Korina Sanchez’s childhood carer ‘Nanay Fe’ finally meets twins

TV’s “Rated K” host Korina Sanchez finally introduced her twins Pepe and Pilar to Nanay Fe, who has taken care of her since she was a child.
Sanchez shared photos of the heartwarming moment via social media on June 2. As per Sanchez, Nanay Fe, who also just celebrated her 72nd birthday, has been wiping off her snot since she was only 4 years old, making her their mother figure for almost 50 years.
Nanay Fe, her sister Elsie and niece apparently flew to Manila to visit Sanchez. In Sanchez’s post, she can be seen lovingly carrying the twins.
“Imagine. She took care of me when I was only 4 years old,” Sanchez said via Instagram. “She never thought she would see the day I had my own kids.”
Sanchez added Nanay Fe still loves telling stories, but has gotten weak with age: “Makwento si Fe (Fe is talkative). But she has become weak. I intend to get her stronger. We have many stories to tell each other looking back.”
The septuagenarian also told the TV host her baby girl Pilar had her late mother Celia’s eyes, while son Pepe looked like her late father Monching.
“Sabi nya, ‘Si Pilar kamukha ng mata ng Mommy mo, si Pepe Monching na Monching (my Dad). Naabutan ko din kayo…’” she said. “Blessed.” (She said, Pilar has your mother’s eyes, while Pepe looks just like Monching. Thank goodness I reached you).
Twins Pepe and Pilar came almost 10 years after Sanchez and former interior secretary Mar Roxas’ marriage in 2009. The couple opted for gestational surrogacy to conceive the twins. /ra
