Jane Oineza warns of hacked social media accounts

Jane Oineza warned her fans that her Instagram and Facebook accounts have been compromised.

Oineza made the announcement on Twitter on June 3, sharing she could no longer open her Instagram account after the hacker changed her email address.

“My IG got hacked,” Oineza said. “They changed my email and now I can’t open it.”

Fans of the actress shared screenshots of Oineza’s Instagram page, which showed an empty newsfeed and no profile picture. However, as of this writing, the contents of Oineza’s verified account seem to have been retrieved.

Oineza shared the email the hacker used to take over her social media in another tweet, adding her Facebook page was not spared.

“Eto yung email nung nag hack…” she said. “Kaya di ko maretrieve yung acct ko kasi pinalitan niya email, password and phone number ko. Pati sa Facebook!”

(This is the email of the hacker. I can’t retrieve my account because he/she changed the email, password and phone number, even on Facebook).

Some celebrities have had their own fair share of compromised accounts lately, the latest being the Parokya ni Edgar’s Facebook page. The band’s page was hacked last May 30, as confirmed by lead singer Alfonso “Chito” Miranda, and saw the removal of the band’s members as administrators of the page. Explicit contents were also shared by the page.

Actress Glaiza de Castro’s Facebook page was also hacked last April, prompting her to warn her fans of the unauthorized contact details listed on her page. Actress and comedian Rufa Mae Quinto’s Instagram and email accounts were likewise hacked last January and saw the hacker change Quinto’s profile name and profile picture.  /ra
