MANILA, Philippines — Singer and dancer Gab Valenciano used his before and after photos to inspire his fans as he leaped through the “darkest and most painful” time of his life.

Valenciano posted Thursday via his Instagram account photos comparing his appearance from 2017 and 2019.
The photos, the singer said, served as a “simple reminder that no matter how lost you are in the dark, you can always find your way back to the light if you choose to do so.”
Valenciano earlier revealed hitting “rock bottom” in 2018 and described it as “the darkest and most painful” time of his life.

“Only you alone can make that choice. It won’t be easy and you will face challenges where ending it all may seem like the only viable option, but it isn’t and never will be,” he said.
The 30-year-old performer also advised his followers to surround themselves with “the right people” and find a place where their “soul can flourish.”
“Be aware, be vigilant and be open. You are worth more than you will ever know. If you don’t see it now, others will and in the process you will as well. Your deepest setback will always be defeated by your greatest comeback,” he added.
Several celebrities left words of support for Valenciano including Ara Mina, Ogie Alcasid, Alexander McDizz, Vina Morales and Karel Marquez.
