As Korina Sanchez savors the realities of motherhood, she could not help but wonder if there is truth in the notions about parental favoritism.
The “Rated K” TV host took to social media where she shared to her fans the recent conversation she had with the nurse and caregivers of her twins Pepe and Pilar.
“Nag uusap usap kami ng nurse and caregivers ni Pepe en Pilar (the nurse, caregivers and I were talking): is there such a thing as having a favorite sa anak (among one’s kids)? ” Sanchez said via Instagram on May 25. “Hanggang ngayon pinagtatalunan yan ng marami (many people argue about this until today).”
Now that she is a mother, Sanchez can speak from experience. And according to her, there is no such thing as having a favorite child.
“I can say now from experience na WALA (there is none),” she said. “Each of them has his or her own lovable-ness.”
She, however, said in jest that her daughter Pilar seems to get more likes online than twin brother Pepe. She also added it would be the twins’ habit and personality when they become older that would determine if they would be the favorite or not.
“Pero bakit sa likes mas marami parati kay Pilar? (But how come Pilar always has more likes?) Haha!” added Sanchez. “I think when they grow older, yung ugali ang magsasabi kung magiging ‘favorite’ siya o hindi? Pero sa tingin ko ang pagmamahal ng Nanay, pantay parati.”
(I think when they grow older, it would be their character that would determine if they would be a favorite or not? But I do think that when it comes to a mother’s love, it is always equal).”
Pepe and Pilar’s arrival came almost 10 years after Sanchez and former interior secretary Mar Roxas’ marriage in 2009. It was revealed by DZMM anchor Pat Daza last February that the couple opted for gestational surrogacy to conceive the twins. JB
